Ameer Reclaimed His Life After Undergoing Septoplasty
Ameer Akber Shah's Story
Ameer Akber, a 51-year-old man from Karachi, had been facing nasal obstruction and headache for nine years. The condition had severely affected his daily life, causing discomfort and limiting his ability to work effectively. Ameer received symptomatic treatment but his condition didn’t improve. After suffering for long, he decided to consult a specialist, who performed a thorough examination and diagnosed Ameer with Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS). The recommended treatment was septoplasty, but Ameer was unable to pay for his surgery.
Ameer lived in a modest brick house with his six family members. He worked as a daily wage laborer and made only PKR 26000 per month. He was the sole breadwinner in the family, and they had no other source of support besides Ameer. His health was getting worse day by day and affording to pay for his surgery was out of his financial capacity. Ameer was scared of the circumstances if he didn’t get the surgery. It was during this challenging time that a neighbor told him about Transparent Hands. Ameer reached out to us and asked us to register his case.
On 11th November 2024, Ameer was admitted to the Murshid Hospital in Karachi. The surgery took place on the same day. Dr Mubashir Abdul Razzaq successfully corrected his nasal septum, significantly improving his breathing. After proper post-operative care, he was discharged in satisfactory condition on 12th November 2024.
Ameer shared his heartfelt gratitude as follows:
“Living in constant pain made me forget what happiness felt like. But now, I wake up every day with a smile, free from the burdens of my condition. You gave me the greatest gift – my health and my joy. I am thankful to you for helping me.”
Ameer’s quality of life has greatly improved. He can now breathe easily and perform his daily tasks without discomfort. Your contributions have given him a chance to live with ease and dignity.
