Amna Akbar Khan's Story
Amna Akbar, a 26-year-old mother from Lahore, faced immense worry and uncertainty due to financial constraints that posed a significant obstacle to her safe delivery. At 31 weeks pregnant, with a history of three previous C-sections, Amna’s doctor recommended another C-section for the well-being of both herself and her unborn child. However, the burden of medical expenses weighed heavily on her heart, as her husband’s monthly income of 12,000 PKR barely covered their basic needs.
Living in a modest rented house with her husband, in-laws, and three children, Amna’s heartfelt plea for support reverberated with her fervent desire for a safe and healthy birth for her baby. In this challenging situation, Amna found a ray of hope in Transparent Hands, an organization that provides financial assistance for medical procedures.
