Asif’s Ear Surgery was Successful

Muhammad Asif, a 47-year-old man from Karachi, had been struggling with a persistent right ear discharge for over a year. This condition gradually worsened, severely affecting his hearing and making everyday communication and social interactions increasingly difficult. Concerned about his deteriorating condition, Asif visited a local hospital. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed Asif with Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) characterized by a perforated eardrum and continuous drainage from the middle ear. To restore his hearing and eliminate the infection, the doctor recommended a series of surgical procedures: right mastoidectomy, ossiculoplasty, and tympanoplasty. However, the cost of the treatment was beyond his financial capacity.

Asif lives in a small rented home with his wife and a young daughter. He is the sole breadwinner, works as a daily wage laborer, and earns just PKR 30,000 per month. His modest income barely covers the family’s basic needs. During their search for help, Asif came across Transparent Hands and reached out for support. After listening to his concerns, we quickly registered his case.

On March 22, 2025, Asif was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi, where his surgery was performed by Dr. Paras Naeem. After receiving proper post-operative care, Asif was discharged in good health on March 24, 2025.
