Ayesha Bibi’s Successful Heart Surgery
Ayesha Bibi's Story
Seven-year-old Ayesha, a resident of Okara, has suffered from dyspnea, cyanosis, and frequent episodes of chest pain since birth. Upon consultation, the doctor diagnosed her with a ventricular septal defect. Her first open-heart surgery for VSD closure was performed in 2017 through Transparent Hands. After some time, she complained of chest pain and shortness of breath. Her parents revisited the local hospital. After running more tests, the doctor diagnosed her with severe LVOTO (left ventricular outflow tract obstruction), and the cardiac surgeon advised her to undergo a resection of LVOTO ( redo open-heart surgery). She was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, where her operation was performed by Dr. Salman on 29-11-2022. She was discharged after a four-day stay in the hospital.
