Ayesha Fatima's Story

Ayesha Fatima, an adorable 4-year-old girl from Khanewal, had faced an arduous battle with impaired vision. She had been diagnosed with a cataract in her right eye, which had caused her tremendous difficulty seeing the world around her. To make matters worse, she had also recently developed a squint eye, leading to serious shortsightedness. Ayesha’s condition had taken a toll on her daily life, hindering her ability to learn, play, and experience the joys of childhood.

A team of dedicated doctors recommended a crucial surgical procedure known as (R) LMA + IOL for Ayesha. This procedure would help replace the cataract-affected lens in her right eye, allowing her to regain clear vision and improve her quality of life. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond the means of Ayesha’s family.

Ayesha’s family had contacted Transparent Hands and submitted the documents to register the case. With the support of donors, Ayesha was swiftly admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Teaching Hospital in Multan, where a team of skilled medical professionals awaited her arrival.

On April 25, 2024, under the expert care of Dr. Hassan Raza, Ayesha Fatima underwent a vital surgical procedure. The surgery involved the removal of the cataract and the implantation of an intraocular lens, aiming to restore her vision to its former clarity. The procedure was a resounding success, marking a turning point in Ayesha’s life.

Through the unwavering assistance provided by Transparent Hands and its compassionate donors, Ayesha not only regained her sight but also freed her family from the overwhelming financial burden associated with the surgery. The restoration of Ayesha’s vision opened up a world of possibilities for her. With her improved eyesight, she could now fully engage in her studies, explore her interests, and actively participate in activities with her peers. The newfound clarity in her vision bestowed upon Ayesha Fatima a greater sense of independence.
