Bait Ullah’s Second Chance at Life
Bait Ullah 's Story
Bait Ullah, a 13-year-old residing in South Waziristan, has been grappling with cyanosis, shortness of breath, and episodes of chest pain. Concerned about their son’s declining health, his parents took him to the hospital for a thorough examination. After undergoing diagnostic tests and evaluations, Bait Ullah received a diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex heart condition characterized by four anatomical abnormalities. The only viable solution for patients with this condition is open-heart surgery for total correction. The cardiac surgeon recommended that Bait Ullah undergo this critical procedure after angiography.
The financial burden of Bait Ullah’s surgery weighed heavily on his father, who struggled to cover all the household expenses with his limited income. Unable to afford the cost of his son’s surgery, he reached out to Transparent Hands, seeking assistance and registering his case.
With the invaluable support of Transparent Hands, Bait Ullah was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. On September 27, 2023, Dr. Asim Khan skillfully performed the surgery, which included median sternotomy, VSD closure, and RVOTO resection.
