Dua Zahra Imran Ali's Story

Dua Zahra, a courageous four-year-old girl residing in Bhakkar, faced an uphill battle with her health. Cyanosis, dyspnea, and recurring chest pain had become constant companions in her young life. Worried about their daughter’s declining condition, Dua’s parents turned to a local hospital for help. After a series of tests, a cardiologist delivered the devastating news of multiple heart defects, including a ventricular septal defect (VSD) accompanied by severe pulmonary hypertension. The prescribed solution was open-heart surgery to close the VSD, but the financial burden seemed insurmountable for Dua’s family. In their desperate quest for assistance, they reached out to Transparent Hands, hoping for a ray of hope.

Transparent Hands, recognizing the urgency of Dua’s situation, swiftly stepped in to ensure that the vital surgery she needed would become a reality. With their support, Dua was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital on 31-08-2023. The skilled hands of Dr. Salman took charge of operating, instilling confidence in Dua’s parents and offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness.

Following the crucial surgery, Dua’s recovery journey began with a flicker of hope. The closure of the VSD proved to be a turning point in her young life, relieving her from the suffocating grip of distressing symptoms. As her heart function improved, the burden of cyanosis and dyspnea gradually lifted, paving the way for a healthier, more vibrant existence. The success of the surgery also alleviated the constraints of severe pulmonary hypertension, granting Dua a newfound freedom and comfort in her daily life.

The success of her surgery was evident, and it marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope and endless opportunities. With each passing day, Dua embraces this future with open arms, unencumbered by the medical challenges that once threatened to overshadow her life. This remarkable outcome was made possible through the unwavering support of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation and the generosity of kind-hearted donors, who joined hands to create a life-altering impact on Dua’s journey toward healing.
