Fazal Rabbi's Story

Fazal Rabbi, a 74-year-old resident of Karachi, found himself facing a challenging medical condition. A lump had developed in his right inguinal region, which gradually increased in size and became increasingly painful. Concerned about his health, Fazal sought medical assistance, leading him to a doctor’s consultation.

The doctor conducted a thorough evaluation and diagnostic tests, which revealed that Fazal was suffering from a right inguinal hernia. This condition occurs when a portion of the intestines or other tissues protrudes through a weak spot or tear in the abdominal muscles in the lower right abdomen near the groin. Understanding the urgency and severity of the situation, the doctor recommended a right inguinal hernioplasty, a surgical procedure to repair the hernia.

However, Fazal faced a financial predicament, unable to bear the burden of surgical expenses. In his search for a solution, he reached out to Transparent Hands, an organization dedicated to providing financial support for individuals in need of medical treatment. Recognizing the urgency of Fazal’s case, we launched a campaign to raise funds for his surgery.

The response from donors was overwhelming, with people from various walks of life contributing generously to Fazal’s cause. Their compassion and support paved the way for his much-needed surgery. Fazal was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi, where Dr. Khalid, an experienced surgeon, successfully performed the right inguinal hernioplasty on 7th October 2023.

The surgery was a resounding success, and Fazal’s health gradually improved under the care of the dedicated medical staff. After two days of post-operative care, Fazal was discharged from the hospital in a satisfactory condition, ready to embark on the journey of recovery. Fazal is immensely grateful to all the donors who selflessly contributed to his cause, enabling him to reclaim his health.  He plans to make the most of this second chance by taking care of his health, embracing a healthy lifestyle, and cherishing every moment with his loved ones.
