Hamid’s surgery has restored his condition to normal
Hamid Shafiq's Story
Hamid Shafiq, 15 months old, was suffering from anorectal malformation (ARM) resulting in an absent back passage. His emergency colostomy was done at birth to make a temporary passage for stool. He was advised surgery to construct his back passage at the normal site. His surgery, posterior sagittal anorectoplasty (PSARP), was done at Medicare Hospital, Rawalpindi, on 15-01-20, by Dr Naeem Liaqat. He stayed for two days in the hospital with good post-operative recovery and was discharged with advice.
