Hanif’s Inguinal Hernia was Repaired

Muhammad Hanif, a 75-year-old man from Lahore, had been battling with pain and discomfort for the past two years. He had a lump in his right groin, which gradually increased in size and became extremely painful. Worried about his deteriorating health, Hanif consulted a general surgeon, who conducted necessary tests and an ultrasound scan. Hanif was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia and the doctor recommended a right inguinal hernia repair surgery as the only solution.

This was not the first time Hanif faced such a condition. Earlier, he had undergone left inguinal hernia repair surgery, which was facilitated by Transparent Hands. Unfortunately, his struggles did not end there. The hernia on his right side was severely affecting his mobility and causing him immense pain. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was out of his financial capacity.

Hanif lived in a one-room brick house with his wife and one daughter. Due to his age and health issues, Hanif was unable to work. His wife, who worked as a housemaid, earned a meager monthly income of PKR 12000, which barely covered the family’s basic needs. With no other source of income and mounting medical needs, Hanif’s family could not afford the cost of his surgery. During this time of need, Hanif once again contacted Transparent Hands and asked us to register his case.

On 29th October 2024, Hanif was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital. Dr. Ahmed Fawad performed the right inguinal hernia repair surgery successfully. Hanif received comprehensive post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on 1st November 2024.
