Hoorain Fatima, a spirited five-year-old hailing from Faisalabad, has faced the challenges of congenital sensorineural hearing loss since the day she was born. Her young life has been devoid of the beautiful melodies that surround us, as she was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. However, a glimmer of hope shines through in the form of cochlear implant surgery—a groundbreaking procedure that holds the promise of transforming her world by restoring her ability to hear.

In a heartfelt plea for assistance, Hoorain’s father turned to Transparent Hands, an organization dedicated to providing medical support to those in need. Recognizing the urgency of Hoorain’s situation, Transparent Hands rallied behind her cause, determined to offer her a chance at a life enriched with the gift of hearing.

Through the unwavering support of Transparent Hands, Hoorain was admitted to the prestigious Ali Medical Centre. Under the skilled hands of Dr. Jawad Ahmed, her cochlear implant surgery took place on November 18, 2023. The procedure was a vital step on Hoorain’s journey towards regaining her sense of hearing. With the surgery completed, Hoorain was discharged from the hospital after just one day, embarking on the road to recovery and a brighter future.

Six weeks later, another milestone was reached as the external component of the cochlear implant was skillfully fixed. This significant development brought Hoorain even closer to embracing the world of sound. 

Recognizing that the journey toward complete auditory rehabilitation involves more than just the surgical procedure, Hoorain embarked on a series of speech therapy sessions. These sessions are designed to support her in developing speech and language skills. 

The journey to restoration is still ongoing for Hoorain, but the foundation has been laid for her to thrive. Transparent Hands’ unwavering commitment to providing medical assistance has allowed Hoorain to experience the world in a whole new way.
