Imran can Walk With a Prosthesis
Imran Tassaduq Hussain's Story
Imran, a 51-year-old man from Lahore, was unable to walk due to the loss of his left leg. He had high-risk diabetes due to which the doctors had to amputate his left leg below the knee. His condition took away his ability to walk, work, and provide for his family. Imran consulted a doctor about his condition. The doctor recommended a below-knee prosthesis to restore his ability to walk with independence. However, the cost of an artificial limb was overwhelming for Imran.
The fear of becoming a burden to his family grew with each passing day, and hope seemed distant. Imran lives in a modest house with his wife, children, and brother. His brother is the sole breadwinner in the family and makes PKR 40,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, they barely managed to pay for the utility bills, educational expenses, and groceries. The financial strain of the prosthesis was an additional financial burden for the family. During this time of need, Imran contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.
The day of hope arrived. On 28th June 2024, Imran’s below-knee prosthesis was fitted at Hope Rehabilitation Centre in Lahore. The installation was performed under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Niaz. With the assistance of a prosthetic limb, Imran slowly regained his independence.
He learned to walk again without support. Filled with gratitude, Imran said:
“I thought I would never be able to walk again. But because of you, I was given a new chance. I can walk, work, and be there for my family. I will never forget this kindness.”
Your support has given Imran more than just a prosthetic limb—it has restored his dignity and allowed him to continue supporting his family. Thank you for making a significant difference in his life.
