Imtiaz Bibi Underwent Hernioplasty
Imtiaz Bibi's Story
Imtiaz Bibi, a 55-year-old resident of Lahore, has been living with a lump in the umbilical region for the past 10 years. Recently, she began experiencing abdominal pain and swelling around the umbilicus, prompting her to seek medical advice.
Upon visiting a general surgeon, Imtiaz Bibi underwent further tests and an ultrasound. The diagnosis revealed that she was suffering from a Paraumbilical hernia, a condition that requires surgical intervention in the form of a mesh hernioplasty.
However, Imtiaz Bibi’s family is facing significant financial constraints. Her husband, a daily wager, is responsible for bearing all the household expenses, making it challenging for them to afford the cost of Imtiaz Bibi’s necessary surgery.
Recognizing their dire situation, Imtiaz Bibi’s family reached out to Transparent Hands, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to those in need of medical care. The organization promptly registered her case and stepped in to support her during this critical time.
With the help of Transparent Hands, Imtiaz Bibi was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital, where Dr. Ahmed Fawad performed the surgery for hernioplasty and abdominoplasty on May 23, 2024. After three days of hospitalization, Imtiaz Bibi was discharged, relieved and grateful for the successful outcome. She is truly thankful to Transparent Hands and all the generous donors who have come to support her. She would not have been able to afford the surgery and could have faced worsening health complications.
