Iqra Bibi's Story

Iqra, a resilient 1-year-old from Lahore, embarked on a remarkable journey towards a healthier heart. Admitted to UOLTH (University of Lahore Teaching Hospital) on 16th December 2023, Iqra and her family hoped for a brighter future. Iqra was diagnosed with two congenital heart defects: an atrial septal defect (ASD), which is a hole in the heart’s upper chambers, and partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC), where some of the pulmonary veins are not properly connected.

Under the skilled care of Dr. Faiz Rasool, a renowned cardiac surgeon, Iqra underwent a life-changing surgical procedure called ASD closure + PAPVC repair on 18th December 2023. The surgery aimed to repair both the ASD and PAPVC, allowing for improved blood flow and overall heart function. This procedure marked a significant milestone in Iqra’s journey towards a healthier and more vibrant life.

During her hospital stay, Iqra received exceptional care from the dedicated medical team at UOLTH.
