Irfan Had a Successful Locking Plate Surgery

Muhammad Irfan's Story

Muhammad Irfan, a resilient 32-year-old resident of Bhakkar, Pakistan, had been enduring relentless pain and swelling for the past 1.5 years. His desperate search for relief seemed to only lead to a worsening of his condition. However, a glimmer of hope emerged when he received a comprehensive evaluation that revealed the cause of his suffering: fibrous dysplasia, a rare bone disorder. Further complicating matters, an X-ray revealed a benign bone lesion in his mid-tibia, putting him at risk of a debilitating fracture.

The recommended course of action to prevent further complications was fixation and bone grafting, which involved utilizing a locking plate on his left tibia. Unfortunately, Irfan, who earned a modest monthly income as a daily wager, could not afford the surgical expenses. In his desperate situation, he turned to Transparent Hands.

He was admitted to the Maryam Memorial Hospital in Peshawar, where he met Dr. Rehman Rasool, a skilled and compassionate surgeon. On March 20, 2024, Dr. Rasool successfully performed the locking plate humerus and bone grafting procedure, providing Irfan with renewed hope.

After five days of post-operative care and monitoring, Irfan was discharged from the hospital, ready to embark on his journey towards recovery. The pain and swelling that had plagued him for so long gradually subsided, making way for a brighter and healthier future.
