Jahan Ara Successfully Underwent Breast Cancer Surgery

Jahan Ara's Story
Jahan Ara, a 42-year-old woman from Karachi, had been suffering from a lump in her left breast that brought persistent pain and discomfort. Daily tasks like cooking meals, managing her home, and caring for her children became increasingly difficult for her. Sleepless nights filled with worry and physical pain left her feeling weak and overwhelmed. Fearing for her health, Jahan Ara finally decided to consult a doctor. After a thorough examination and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Jahan Ara with left-sided breast cancer. Her doctor recommended left breast conservation surgery along with axillary sampling to remove the cancerous tissues and prevent the disease from spreading. However, the cost of the treatments was beyond her family’s means.
Jahan Ara lives with her husband and four children in a small two-room house. Her husband works as a laborer, earning only PKR 30,000 a month, a modest income that hardly covers their utility bills, food, school fees, and other daily needs. With nothing left to save, affording such a critical procedure seemed impossible. The fear of losing her life and leaving her children without a mother weighed heavily on her heart. During this desperate situation, Jahan Ara and her family learned about Transparent Hands, and they reached out to us. We listened to their worries and promptly registered her case.
On February 1, 2025, Jahan Ara was admitted to Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital in Karachi. The next day, on February 2, 2025, Dr. Saeeda Sakina performed her left breast conservation surgery with axillary sampling. After receiving proper post-operative care, she was discharged in stable condition on February 6, 2025.
With relief in her eyes, Jahan Ara said:
“Without your help, I couldn’t have managed this surgery. You’ve made it possible for me to recover and continue caring for my children. I truly appreciate your support during this challenging time.”
Jahan Ara is now recovering, and she is free from the discomfort caused by breast cancer. Your kindness has brought hope and healing to Jahan Ara and her family.
They are deeply grateful for your compassion and generosity.
