Muhammad Akram is No Longer Facing Pain

Muhammad Akram's Story

Muhammad Akram, a 39-year-old man from District Vehari, had a road accident nine years ago. The accident left him with a severe fracture in his right leg, which required immediate surgical intervention. To stabilize his leg and restore mobility, doctors inserted an implant known as a Dynamic Compression Plate (DCP). Initially, the surgery was a success, and Akram regained the ability to walk and work. However, over the years, the implant became a source of constant pain and discomfort. He developed a non-healing wound along with an infection in the implant area. Akram consulted an orthopedic specialist, who strongly recommended the removal of the infected implant to alleviate his pain and improve his quality of life.

Akram lived in a small house with his seven family members. He worked as a tailor in a local factory, earning a modest monthly income of PKR 25,000. He was a sole breadwinner in the family and it was challenging for him to manage utility bills, and to support seven family members. Due to his financial limitations, he was unable to pay for his treatment. During this time of need, Akram turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Recognizing the gravity of his situation, we swiftly registered his case.

On 26th October 2024, Akram was admitted to the Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital in Multan. He received pre-operative care and his surgery was scheduled for 28th October 2024. Dr. Muhammad Adeel successfully removed the infected implant through a specialized procedure. Akram received post-surgical care, medications, and thorough monitoring. He was discharged in stable condition on 29th October 2024.

After the surgery, Akram’s life has changed significantly. Overjoyed, he expressed his gratitude as follows:

“I had been suffering for so long that I forgot what it felt like to live without pain. I am immensely thankful to you. I can now walk and work without discomfort. You have given me back my independence and dignity.”

Akram is recovering and he can walk without support. The intense pain which he was bearing for a long time has gone now. Your support has made a lasting impact on his life, restoring his hope and mobility. His family is incredibly grateful to you for your generous donations.
