Muhammad Fahad Has Entered the Vibrant World of Sounds

Muhmmad Fahad's Story

Malik Muhammad Fahad, a 4-year-old boy from Lahore, had been experiencing hearing loss since birth. Concerned about his condition, his parents received a medical consultation. The doctor diagnosed him with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Upon some diagnostic tests, the ophthalmologist recommended cochlear implant surgery.

Fahad’s parents longed to see their son live a normal life. Unfortunately, the significant financial burden of the desperately needed surgery loomed heavily over them. Affording the costly cochlear implant surgery was challenging for them.

Determined to seek assistance for their son’s well-being, his family contacted Transparent Hands to register his case. 

On 28th May 2024, Fahad was admitted to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad. Under the skilled supervision of Dr. Jawad Ahmad, the internal component of the cochlear implant was carefully inserted. He was discharged after one day of hospitalization, with new hope and anticipation.

After six weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant was fitted, enabling Fahad to embrace the symphony of sounds. He is attending regular speech therapy sessions with dedication, as it is a subsequent step to improve his speaking and listening ability.

Fahad’s parents said with tears of happiness in their eyes.

“It gives us immense pleasure to see our son responding to voices. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all donors who gifted our son the ability to hear.”

The generous support of donors has enabled Fahad to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. He is now ready to learn new words and explore the world of sounds and language.
