Muhammad Ibrahim's Story

Muhammad Ibrahim, a one-year-old child from Lahore, had been experiencing a critical health challenge. Ibrahim’s parents took him to a local hospital for consultation. Upon evaluation, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and DORV (Double Outlet Right Ventricle).
Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a congenital heart defect characterized by four specific cardiac defects. He was experiencing multiple symptoms such as shortness of breath, blue skin coloration, and rapid breathing during feeding.

Ibrahim’s parents were heart-wrenched to see that their son was not able to gain weight like other children his age. His doctors recommended open-heart surgery for total correction, essential for restoring his heart’s functionality. Due to financial constraints, they were unable to bear the cost of his surgery. In this moment of despair, they reached out to Transparent Hands to register his case.

With the collaborative efforts of Transparent Hands, our donors, and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation, Ibrahim’s case was swiftly processed. He was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore, where a skilled cardiac surgeon, Dr. Asim Khan, performed the necessary procedure of median Sternotomy and total correction on 27 April 2024.

Ibrahim was hospitalized for nine days. During his stay, he received exceptional care and support from the skillful staff.

Ibrahim’s father’s shared his feelings:
