Nasreen Bibi's Story
Nasreen, a resilient 44-year-old resident of Karachi, has been struggling with persistent abdominal pain and swelling around her umbilicus for the past few years. Concerned about her condition, she sought medical attention from a general surgeon at a local hospital. Extensive evaluation and diagnostic tests revealed that Nasreen was suffering from a paraumbilical hernia, a condition characterized by the protrusion of abdominal contents through a weakened area near the belly button. The recommended course of treatment was mesh hernioplasty, a surgical procedure aimed at repairing the hernia. However, Nasreen faced a big challenge—she lacked the financial means to cover the cost of the surgery on her own.
Fortunately, Nasreen’s case caught the attention of Transparent Hands promptly registered her case, ensuring that she would receive the necessary support to undergo the surgery.
