Rabia Akram's Story

Rabia Akram, 26 years old, presented with dyspnoea on mild exertion for 1 year. Her condition was investigated and found to be rheumatic heart disease- mitral stenosis (MS) and mitral regurgitation (MR). She was advised open heart surgery and replacement of her mitral valve. She was operated on at National Hospital by Dr. Ahmed Shehzad on 11-10-19. Her mitral valve was replaced. She recovered well after the surgery and was discharged in good health after 5 days of hospital stay.
