Rajesh Received a Functional wrist Prosthesis

Rajesh Ulomal's Story

Rajesh, a 39-year-old man from Sanghar, Pakistan, faced a challenging moment in his life. He was living happily until a day came when he had severe burn trauma. This injury led to his right wrist disarticulation amputation, leaving him unable to perform even the simplest tasks. He consulted a doctor, who prescribed a functional wrist prosthesis. Unfortunately, the cost of the artificial limb was beyond his financial capacity.

Rajesh felt as though his life had come to a standstill, and the burden of his family’s survival weighed heavily on him. Living in a small house with his wife and three children, Rajesh struggled to make ends meet. He is the sole breadwinner in the family and works as a daily wage laborer. His meager monthly income barely fulfilled his household expenses. The cost of his prosthesis was simply out of his reach. The physical and emotional toll was overwhelming, but Rajesh refused to give up. During this time of need, Rajesh contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.

On 15th March 2024, Rajesh’s functional wrist disarticulation prosthesis was fitted at Chal Foundation in Islamabad. It was done under the supervision of Dr. Ummad Shafiq.

Rajesh said with tears of gratitude:

“This prosthesis has allowed me to live without feeling incomplete. Now, I feel whole and ready to take on life again. I am thankful to you for helping me.”

This functional wrist prosthesis has enabled Rajesh to perform everyday tasks like gripping objects, and eating, ultimately restoring some of the independence he had lost. It was through your generous support that Rajesh received the much-needed wrist prosthesis.

Rajesh’s life has taken a significant turn for the better. His resilience and determination, combined with the support he received, have allowed him to face life’s challenges with new hope. Rajesh and his family are immensely grateful to you for changing his life.
