Rani Has Found Relief After Cholecystectomy

Rani Anees's Story

Rani Anees, a 38-year-old woman from Karachi, had been experiencing pain in the upper right side of her abdomen for the past two months. Alongside this discomfort, she frequently suffered from nausea and found it nearly impossible to tolerate fatty foods, making everyday life a struggle. Rani visited a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After a thorough medical evaluation, including ultrasound imaging and lab investigations, she was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis. The doctor explained that to eliminate her pain and prevent further complications, she needed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the surgical cost was overwhelming for her family.

Rani lived in a small rented home with her husband and three children. Her husband works as a laborer and earns just PKR 25,000 a month. The family’s income barely stretches to cover basic living expenses, including utility bills and food expenses. Faced with financial hardships and increasing health worries, Rani began to lose hope. On February 6, 2025, Rani was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. Her laparoscopic cholecystectomy was skillfully performed by Dr. Mariam. After receiving the necessary post-operative care and medications, Rani was discharged in good condition on February 7, 2025.
