Raqeeba is Now living a Cancer-Free Life
Raqeeba Bibi's Story
Raqeeba, a 59-year-old woman from Gujranwala, had been battling breast cancer for two years. She had a painful lump in her right breast which prompted her to seek medical attention. After a biopsy in August 2022, she heard the devastating news of stage 2 breast cancer. With courage in her heart, she underwent MRM (Modified Radical Mastectomy).
The oncologist reviewed her final reports and recommended chemotherapy. Additionally, due to being HER2 positive, her treatment course included 17 Herceptin injections to neutralize the HER2 protein – a crucial step in combating breast cancer. She received chemotherapy and ten Herceptin injections on her own and needed seven more injections.
Raqeeba’s painful condition was hindering her ability to perform daily life chores and take care of her children. A big obstacle was in her way toward recovery – her financial constraints. To undergo the surgery with her family’s meager monthly income was extremely challenging.
In this moment of uncertainty, she reached out to Transparent Hands, seeking support to undergo the treatment. We promptly registered her case. From January 19, 2024 to May 9, 2024, she successfully received Herceptin Injections at Inmol Cancer Hospital Lahore. Dr. Sana monitored her case and ensured her successful recovery.
Raqeeba has returned to her normal way of living with renewed hope and confidence. She expressed her emotions as follows:
“The successful recovery from breast cancer was nothing short of a miracle. I am grateful to Transparent Hands and all the donors who supported me in defeating cancer.”
Transparent Hands enabled Raqeeba to face her chronic illness with profound strength and resilience. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all compassionate donors who made her recovery possible. Raqeeba’s life has been filled with courage and enthusiasm and her health has improved to a great extent.
