Razia’s intestinal surgery went well
Razia Bibi's Story
Razia Bibi, aged 45 years, underwent surgery for her fibroid uterus around five years ago. However, she experienced occasional abdominal pain and altered bowel movements since then. Therefore, she was investigated to find out the cause of abdominal pain. It was discovered that unfortunately a sponge was left inside her abdomen in her previous surgery. Her treating surgeon advised exploration and removal of this foreign body. For this purpose, Razia was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital and her exploratory laparotomy was performed. The sponge inside her body had impacted into the large intestine. Consequently, her right hemicolectomy was done and sigmoid colon was repaired by Dr. Ahmed Fawad on 30.03.2021. She stayed in the hospital for seven days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Razia’s abdominal pain has gone and she is now living a healthy life.
