Saba Siddique Successfully Underwent ERCP
Saba Siddique's Story
Saba Siddique, a 38-year-old woman from Lahore, had been suffering from upper abdominal pain for two years. Besides this, she also experienced nausea, vomiting, and jaundice, which made her confined to bed occasionally. Concerned about her condition, she went to a nearby hospital and received a consultation from a doctor. After a comprehensive examination and evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis and performed a cholecystectomy to get rid of her symptoms. Her condition did not improve after the surgery and she was investigated further and found to have suffered from Acute Pancreatitis after surgery due to choledocholithiasis. She was advised of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). However, the cost of the procedure was beyond her family’s financial reach this time.
Saba lived in a modest house with her two family members. As a housewife, she relied on her husband for living expenses. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, was a tailor and earned just PKR 20,000 per month. This income was insufficient to cover utility bills, groceries, and other living expenses. Due to their financial constraints and no savings, they were unable to pay for the much-needed procedure. During this challenging time, Saba turned to Transparent Hands and asked us for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.
On 24th September 2024, Saba was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital. The procedure took place on 25th September 2024. Dr. Saleem Ullah carefully managed her case and performed the Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Her Bile duct was cleared of stones. After undergoing the procedure, Saba was hospitalized and received post-procedure care and necessary medications. On 27th September 2024, she was discharged in satisfactory condition from the hospital.
Saba was overwhelmed with happiness and she said:
“I was afraid I would never experience a pain-free life again. Now, after receiving treatment, I feel renewed. My happiness knows no bounds, and I can now spend time with my family without worry. You have truly been a blessing in my life.”
Saba is recovering and she can now keep up with her responsibilities without the limitations caused by her illness. Her family is immensely grateful to you for supporting her and giving her new hope and healing in life.
Your contributions changed her life.
