Shakeel Has Recovered from Cholelithiasis

Muhammad Shakeel's Story

Muhammad Shakeel, a 44-year-old resident of Karachi, had been suffering from persistent pain in the upper right side of his abdomen for the past three years. What began as mild, occasional discomfort soon turned into a daily struggle marked by severe nausea and vomiting. The pain became more intense after meals, making it difficult for Shakeel to eat properly, focus on work, or carry out everyday responsibilities. Worried about his worsening condition, Shakeel consulted a doctor, who advised several diagnostic tests, including an ultrasound. After evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with Cholelithiasis. The only way to treat it effectively and prevent further complications was through a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, Shakeel was unable to pay for his surgery.

Shakeel lives with a physical disability, relying on a stick for support as he moves around. Despite his limitations, he works hard to make ends meet by driving a rented rickshaw, earning just PKR 25,000 a month. Out of this modest income, a significant portion goes towards paying rent for the house he lives in, leaving little for medical expenses. During his time of need, Shakeel reached out to Transparent Hands. After evaluating his condition and financial background, we promptly registered his case.

On April 23, 2025, Shakeel was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. His laparoscopic cholecystectomy was successfully performed by Dr. Khalid Shafiq. After receiving proper post-operative care and medications, he was discharged in satisfactory condition on April 24, 2025.

With gratitude in his voice, Shakeel said:

“I am truly grateful to everyone who helped me. For years, I lived in pain that affected my work and daily life. After the surgery, I feel like I’ve been given a second chance. Now, I can live a pain-free life without constant discomfort.”

Since his surgery, Shakeel’s life has taken a positive turn. Free from constant pain and nausea, he has regained his energy and focus. He will never forget your generosity.
