Shama Has Successfully Beaten Breast Cancer

Shama Naz's Story

Shama Naz, a 45-year-old woman from Karachi, had faced significant challenges for the past two years. What began as a small lump in her left breast gradually turned into a source of constant pain, fatigue, and emotional stress. The condition affected her daily life, making even simple tasks like household chores and caring for her children overwhelming. Determined to find answers, Shama visited a nearby hospital. The doctor conducted a series of tests and diagnosed Shama with left breast cancer and recommended a left Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM), a surgical procedure to remove the cancer and prevent its spread. However, the surgical cost was overwhelming for Shama’s family.

Shama lives in a modest home with her husband and three young children, all of whom are currently attending school. Her husband works hard as a laborer, earning only PKR 35,000 per month. This income barely covers their groceries and school fees. With nothing left to save, affording such a major surgical procedure seemed impossible for them. During her time of desperation, Shama reached out to Transparent Hands for help. After carefully reviewing her medical reports, our team promptly registered her case.

On February 5, 2025, Shama was admitted to Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital in Karachi. On February 6, 2025, Dr. Shafqat Ullah successfully performed the Modified Radical Mastectomy. Shama received quality post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on February 7, 2025.

Shama shared her heartfelt thoughts as follows:

“I was scared when I heard the word ‘cancer’. However, through your support, I’m free from that fear today. This surgery gave me a second chance at life, and I will always be grateful.”

After her surgery, Shama is now recovering, and she is free from the pain and fear that once ruled her life. She can now care for her children with strength and peace of mind.
