Tahira Parveen Successfully Underwent Open Cholecystectomy
Tahira Parveen's Story
Tahira Parveen, a 37-year-old resident of Lahore, was suffering from pain in her right upper abdomen, accompanied by frequent bouts of vomiting. Over time, her condition became unbearable and gave her extreme discomfort. Her condition confined her to bed and it became difficult for her to care for her children and perform her household chores. Concerned about her condition, she consulted a doctor, who, after running some medical tests and an ultrasound scan diagnosed her with cholecystitis with cholelithiasis—a condition in which the gallbladder becomes inflamed due to the presence of gallstones. In order to alleviate the pain and prevent potential complications, her doctor recommended an open cholecystectomy.
However, the financial strain of the surgery loomed heavily on her family, as they barely made ends meet. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, is a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 30,000 monthly. Tahira lives in a modest brick house with her husband and three children. Tahira knew that without the surgery, her condition would only worsen. It was not possible for them to pay for the treatment. After struggling for a while, she learned about Transparent Hands. Her prayers were answered when we registered her case.
The day of surgery arrived. Tahira was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital on June 13, 2024. On the same day, Dr. Ahmed Fawad skillfully performed her open cholecystectomy. The procedure was a success, bringing an end to the intense pain that had bothered her for months.
Tahira was hospitalized for two days. During her stay, she received critical monitoring and post-operative care. With renewed strength, she was discharged from the hospital on June 15, 2024.
Tahira Parveen shared her emotions as follows:
“Every day I feel stronger and more hopeful. Your support has lifted my spirits and given me the courage to heal. Thank you for being there for me. Your kindness changed my life.”
The successful cholecystectomy marked the end of her suffering and the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Now, Tahira can keep up with her responsibilities and enjoy her meals without the fear of experiencing recurrent episodes of pain and vomiting.
Your support has given Tahira a future filled with love and hope. We are deeply grateful for your help!
