Transparent Hands is thrilled to share the heartwarming success story of Azlan, a five-year-old boy who has overcome the barriers of silence and is now embarking on a remarkable journey of discovering sound and communication. Thanks to generous donations from compassionate donors, Azlan has received the life-changing gift of hearing through a successful cochlear implant surgery.

Born into a world of silence, Azlan faced social isolation and the inability to connect with others due to his congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents, deeply concerned about their son’s well-being, sought medical assistance when he was just a year old. After being diagnosed with hearing loss, they were informed that cochlear implant surgery was necessary for Azlan to regain his hearing abilities.

However, the financial constraints of the family cast a shadow of despair over their hopes for their son’s future. With a monthly income of only PKR 15,000, Azlan’s father knew he couldn’t afford the costly surgical expenses. Azlan’s family contacted Transparent Hands to seek help with the expensive surgery that the little boy needed. We raised funds and made arrangements for his treatment, and Azlan was admitted to Ali Medical Center, where Dr. Jawad Ahmed performed the cochlear implant surgery successfully on 28-4-2023.

Since the surgery, Azlan has been making remarkable progress on his journey to rediscover the world of sounds. Every day brings new moments of awe as he learns to process sounds and recognize the voices of his loved ones. It is an incredible transformation that has touched the hearts of all who have been a part of his journey.
