Umm-e-Farwa’s Heart was Saved
Umm-e Farwa's Story
Umm-e-Farwa, a 12-year-old resident of Lahore, was suffering from Cyanosis, shortness of breath, and the inability to gain weight since birth. Upon consultation, she was diagnosed with Tricuspid Atresia, Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Small Right Ventricular failure (RV), and Major Aortopulmonary Collateral Artery (MAPCA). The cardiologist advised Angiography and Open-Heart Surgery (Blalock-Taussig- BT Shunt). She was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital and her surgery was performed successfully by Dr. Asim Khan on 29-06-2022. She was discharged from the hospital after her ten days of stay. The support of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation made this surgery possible for this girl. Umm-e-Farwa is feeling much better now.
