Waqas Haider's Story

Waqas Haider, a 36-year-old man from Lahore, experienced ten challenging months of persistent pain caused by a growing lump in his left groin. The discomfort increased over time, making simple tasks like sitting or lifting objects challenging. Concerned about his condition, Waqas received medical help.

After running some tests, including lab work and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed him with a left inguinal hernia—a condition in which a portion of the intestine pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall. The doctor recommended a left inguinal hernioplasty, but its cost was beyond his financial reach.

Waqas’s illness left him unemployed, adding to his financial challenges. He lived in a modest rented house with his two family members. His mother worked as a home tutor, earning PKR 35,000 per month—a sum barely sufficient to cover their basic expenses.
