With Your Support, Ali’s Eye Issue Has Been Fixed
Ali Husnain's Story
Ali Husnain, a 5-year-old boy from Mian Channu, had been struggling with blurry and dim vision from a young age. His condition made it difficult for him to play freely, explore his surroundings, and engage in activities with other children. Simple joys like playing with his toys or running around with friends became challenging. Worried about their son’s worsening condition, Ali’s parents took him to a nearby hospital for a detailed medical evaluation. The doctor conducted several tests and diagnosed him with bilateral cataract. To address the issue, Ali underwent bilateral Lens Matter Aspiration (LMA), which resulted in Aphakia—a condition where the natural lens of the eye is missing. However, as time passed, Ali began to experience difficulty in focusing, which started affecting his developmental milestones and social interactions.
After a follow-up consultation, the doctor recommended a secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation for Ali’s right eye to help restore proper vision. This surgery was crucial for improving his focus and supporting his overall growth. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for his family.
Ali lived in a small rented house with his parents and three siblings. His father, the only earning member of the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and earned just PKR 35,000 a month. With such limited income, the family struggled to meet even their basic needs, leaving no room for the high cost of surgery. Desperate to find a solution, Ali’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands. Understanding the situation, we quickly registered him and arranged for his surgical treatment.
On February 14, 2025, Ali was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Teaching Hospital in Multan. Dr. Sadaqat successfully performed his surgery on February 15, 2025. Ikram was discharged in stable condition on the same day.
Ali’s father expressed his heartfelt gratitude as follows:
“Watching my son struggle to see broke my heart every single day. Today, Ali can see better and smiles more often—all because of your kindness. Thank you!”
Ali is now recovering. With improved vision, he can now re-engage with the world around him. His family is incredibly grateful to you for playing a key role in making his surgery possible.
