Yasir Ali Can Hear Now
Yasir Ali's Story
Yasir Ali, a 2-year-old boy from Gambat, Sindh, had been living in a world of silence since birth. His parents learned about his hearing impairment when Yasir turned one. His congenital deafness prompted them to seek medical attention. Upon evaluation, he was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss.
After a comprehensive series of examinations, his doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery to enable him to hear. His parents longed to give their beloved son the gift of hearing. However, they faced the daunting obstacle of the high cost of cochlear implant surgery. In their quest to find a solution, they discovered Transparent Hands and contacted us for help.
With the support of compassionate donors, Yasir was admitted to GIMS Hospital in Gambat. Dr. Maqbool performed the intricate procedure to implant the internal component of the cochlear device on June 6, 2024. After one day, Yasir was discharged, marking the beginning of his new journey.
After six weeks, we continued to provide support and the external component of the implant was successfully installed. Furthermore, he is receiving speech therapy sessions. Each session is bringing him one step closer to communicating like other children.
Yasir’s parents expressed their gratitude as follows:
“We have no words to describe our immense happiness. Our son can now hear and understand things clearly. Your donation opened a world of opportunities for him. We are grateful for all the support.”
Yasir’s life has transformed, and his world is full of new hope. As he continues to gain new communication skills, he will be able to achieve higher milestones in life. Not only have we given Yasir Ali a new and more meaningful life, but our compassion has also brought relief to his parents who were worried about his future. Yasir’s story reminds everyone that with compassion and the support of a caring community, dreams can turn into reality.
