You Brought Colors into Mahnoor’s Life
Mahnoor Mazhar's Story
Mahnoor Mazhar, a 20-year-old girl from Multan, had been struggling with blurred vision and short-sightedness for the past four years. She had previously suffered a traumatic injury to her left eye, for which she underwent eye surgery. However, Mahnoor did not fully recover and she continued to experience blurry sight in the affected eye. Mahnoor decided to consult a doctor. After performing a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed her with a left eye traumatic cataract. This condition had caused the lens in her left eye to become clouded due to the trauma she had sustained. The doctor recommended a Phaco + IOL surgery to restore her vision and help her lead a better life. However, Mahnoor’s family was unable to afford the surgery.
Mahnoor lived in a small house with her parents and seven siblings. Her brother, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a mechanic and earned just PKR 25,000 per month. This amount was insufficient to cover the family’s basic living expenses. The financial strain of Mahnoor’s surgery was an additional burden for the family that struggled to make ends meet. During this time of need, Mahnoor’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for support. We registered her case and arranged the surgery.
On December 10, 2024, Mahnoor underwent the Phaco + IOL surgery at Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital in Multan. Dr. Syed Hassan Raza performed the surgery, making Mahnoor’s world brighter.
Mahnoor’s parents were overwhelmed with gratitude. Her parents said with happiness:
“With your support, our daughter’s life has changed. She is no longer limited by her poor vision, and she can live her life to the fullest. We are forever thankful to you and the donors who made this possible.”
Through the successful surgery, Mahnoor can now fully engage with the world around her. Her family is filled with hope and they extend their deepest gratitude to you. You changed her life.
