Shajeel Yousaf's Story

Shajeel Yousaf, a 36-year-old man from Gujranwala, was suffering from a persistent infection in both ears. It gradually led to a moderate to severe hearing loss. Once an energetic and social individual, Shajeel found it increasingly difficult to engage in daily conversations, perform simple tasks, and fulfill his responsibilities. Concerned about his declining condition, Shajeel visited a nearby hospital, where a doctor conducted a thorough examination and confirmed the severity of his hearing loss. The doctor recommended hearing aids to restore his hearing and enable him to lead a normal life again. Unfortunately, the cost of the recommended hearing aids was far beyond Shajeel’s financial capacity.

Shajeel lives in a small rented house with his family of four. He, along with his mother, contributes to the household expenses. However, once they cover their rent and utility bills, there is hardly anything left to set aside for essential medical treatments. During this difficult time, his family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Upon listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered Shajeel’s case.

On May 10, 2025, Shajeel’s procedure was performed at Surgimed Hospital in Lahore by Dr. Binish Khan. STARKEY EVOLV BTE 2000 Power Plus Hearing Aids with Earmolds were inserted in both ears. The hearing aid was perfectly customized to suit his level of hearing loss, and the fitting went smoothly.

Shajeel said with tears of happiness in his eyes:
