You Healed Hameed’s Little Heart By Supporting His Surgery
Hameed Hakeem's Story
Hameed Hakeem, a 4-year-old boy from Musakhel, had been struggling with a serious condition since birth that made even minor physical activity exhausting for him. While children of his age happily ran and played without worry, little Hameed often found himself gasping for breath after only a few moments. His parents became increasingly alarmed when they observed his lips and skin turning bluish. Watching their young son struggle daily filled the family with fear and sadness. Hoping to find a solution, they took Hameed to a local hospital. After detailed examinations and diagnostic tests, the doctors diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex congenital heart defect that affects the normal flow of blood and oxygen throughout the body. To save his life and improve his condition, the doctors advised open-heart surgery for total correction with possible Pulmonary Valve Replacement.
Hameed belongs to a financially struggling family living in a modest home in Musakhel. His father works as a laborer and earns only PKR 10,000 per month, an amount barely sufficient to manage groceries, utility bills, and other basic household needs for the family. Arranging money for an expensive heart surgery was completely beyond their reach. As Hameed’s condition continued to worsen, his parents feared losing their son because of poverty and a lack of access to treatment. In desperation, they reached out to Transparent Hands for support.
After reviewing Hameed’s medical reports and understanding the family’s financial hardships, Transparent Hands registered his case for treatment.
On April 26, 2026, Hameed was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. The following day, his open-heart surgery for total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot was successfully performed by Dr. Asim Khan. The procedure corrected the defects affecting his heart and improved the flow of oxygen-rich blood throughout his body. After careful monitoring and specialized post-operative care, Hameed gradually regained strength. He was discharged from the hospital in stable condition on May 1, 2026.
Hameed’s parents said:
“Every day we feared for our son’s life because he struggled to breathe even after basic activities. We were helpless because we could never afford such an expensive surgery. Today, seeing him recover brings tears of happiness to our eyes. Your support saved our child’s life, and we will always remain thankful for this kindness.”
Hameed is now recovering steadily and looking forward to a healthier childhood, free from the constant suffering that once limited his life.
His family sincerely thanks you and the PCHF for helping save their son’s life and bringing hope back into their home.
