You Helped Muhammad Hafeez Get Back on His Feet

Muhammad Hafeez's Story

Muhammad Hafeez, a 56-year-old resident of Lahore, faced a challenging moment in his life. He was living happily with his family until life took a tragic turn and he was involved in a road traffic accident. His left leg was badly crushed in the accident. His family took him to a nearby hospital where the medical team provided him with first aid. However, the injury was severe to the extent that the doctor decided to amputate his left leg above the knee. After surgery, his life was filled with hardships and challenges. His doctor recommended an above-knee prosthesis to restore his ability to stand on his two feet.

However, the cost of the artificial leg was beyond his financial reach. Hafeez’s disability took away his ability to continue to provide for his family. He was the sole breadwinner in the family and was already struggling to make ends meet. The loss of his job put an additional financial burden and a sense of helplessness among his family. Due to their financial hardships, Hafeez’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help. Recognizing the critical nature of his situation, we promptly registered his case. With the support of generous donors, we finally managed to arrange an artificial leg for Hafeez.

On 12th August 2024, Hafeez’s left above-knee prosthesis was fitted at Hope Rehabilitation Centre, Lahore. It was done under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Niaz, and it filled Hafeez’s heart with new hope and resilience.

Hafeez expressed his emotions as follows:

“I couldn’t see my family struggling to fulfill their basic needs. Your support came at the perfect time. Now I can stand on my two feet again and continue to fulfill my role as a provider for my family. Thanks for your help. You positively impacted my life.”

After receiving an artificial leg, Hafeez’s heart is filled with optimism and courage. He is looking forward to leading a healthy and independent life where he no longer has to face the challenges that came with the loss of his leg.
