Syed Zakir Hussain 's Story

Zakir Hussain, a 57-year-old resident of Lahore, suffered from diabetes and developed a foot infection six months ago. His foot became inflamed, and he went to the doctor for a check-up. The doctor just prescribed symptomatic treatment. With time, his inflammation became worse and progressed to gangrene. He was taken to a specialized care facility, where his left leg was amputated.

The doctor advised getting a prosthetic leg to regain his mobility and independence. He eagerly awaited an artificial leg that would allow him to walk again and regain his independence. However, he could not afford to pay for it due to financial constraints.

He reached out to Transparent Hands, and we registered his case. Under the supervision of Dr. Khalid at Hope Rehabilitation Centre, his left above-knee prosthesis was fixed on 12-05-2023. He was overjoyed to be able to walk again after receiving an artificial leg.
