You Provided Mubeen With LMA and IOL Surgery

Mubeen Bibi's Story

Mubeen Bibi, a 9-year-old girl from Multan, had been struggling with poor vision. Her sight was blurry and dim, making it difficult for her to participate in everyday activities. Her visual impairment was holding her back in life. Worried about their daughter’s condition, Mubeen’s parents took her to a nearby hospital for a medical consultation. After conducting a detailed eye examination and necessary tests, the doctor diagnosed her with a cataract in her left eye. The doctor explained that to restore her vision and prevent further complications, she needed Lens Matter Aspiration (LMA) followed by Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation. However, the financial cost of the surgery was beyond what her family could afford.

Mubeen’s father worked as a daily wage laborer, earning just PKR 15,000 per month. The family lived in a small mud house and struggled to meet even the most basic daily needs. With such limited resources, saving for surgery was not an option. The thought of seeing their daughter continue to suffer because of their financial limitations was heartbreaking for her parents. In search of help, Mubeen’s family reached out to Transparent Hands.

With the generous contributions of donors, Mubeen’s surgery was performed at Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Teaching Hospital in Multan on February 10, 2025. Dr. Safeet successfully performed the LMA + IOL surgery.
