You Relieved Musarat Khatoon’s Abdominal Pain

Musarat Khatoon's Story

Musarat Khatoon, a 54-year-old woman from Rawalpindi, had been suffering from pain in her upper right abdominal region for the past two months. Moreover, she faced nausea, vomiting and intolerance to fatty meals. She received symptomatic treatment but couldn’t find relief. After suffering for a while, she consulted a specialist, who conducted lab tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed Musarat with Cholelithiasis. To alleviate her pain and discomfort, her doctor strongly recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the surgical cost was out of her family’s reach.

Musarat lived in a small rented house with her husband and two children. Her husband and one son worked as daily wage laborers and made just PKR 38,000 per month. This meager income went towards utility bills, food and other living expenses. They struggled to make ends meet and Musarat’s much-needed surgery was costly and they didn’t have means to pay for her treatment. Musarat was extremely concerned about her illness as it badly affected her quality of life and she could do nothing but to be patient. A day came when a well-wisher told her about Transparent Hands. She contacted us and asked for help. Moved by her plea, we quickly registered her case.

On February 5, 2025, Musarat was admitted to Maryam Memorial Hospital in Rawalpindi. Her surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Afsheen. She performed the procedure with great care. After receiving post-operative care, she was discharged in stable condition on February 6, 2025.
Musarat expressed her heartfelt gratitude as follows:
