You Saved Abdullah’s Life with Heart Surgery

Muhammad Abdullah Butt, an 18-year-old boy from Lahore, had been experiencing immense challenges since birth. He struggled due to breathlessness, fatigue, and chest discomfort. Abdullah underwent the Rastelli procedure for TGA, VSD, and PS. However, his condition didn’t settle down and he experienced the symptoms once again. His parents took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Abdullah with Conduit Stenosis. To treat this issue, the doctor recommended redo-open heart surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was beyond Abdullah’s family’s financial reach.

Abdullah lived in a small brick house with his mother and four school-going siblings. The death of his father had put them in a difficult financial situation and they struggled to make ends meet. Abdullah’s family relies on his father’s pension which is approximately PKR 50,000 per month. This income was insufficient to cover their utility bills, food as well as educational expenses. They prayed for a miracle day and night until a day came when a well-wisher told them about Transparent Hands. They reached out to us and we registered their case.

On January 30, 2025, Abdullah was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. His surgery was scheduled for February 01, 2025. Dr. Asim performed his surgery and corrected the defects in his heart. Abdullah stayed in the hospital for four days and received critical monitoring in the ICU. On February 06, 2025, Abdullah was discharged in a satisfactory condition from the hospital.

Abdullah’s mother said with tears of joy:
“Abdullah had been battling with this illness for a long time. I am relieved to see him recovering and taking a step towards a healthy life. You supported us when we had nowhere else to turn. I am immensely thankful to you for helping us during our time of need.”
