Zahida Bibi's Story

Zahida Bibi, aged 53 years, suffered from diabetes mellitus. The disease progressed and got complicated to a point where she got diabetic foot and her left leg had to be amputated above the knee level. The amputation was made around four years ago and it changed Zahida’s life forever. She became dependent on other people for trivial tasks. Zahida was not happy in the said state so her doctor advised her to get an above knee prosthetic leg. Her prosthetic leg was fixed by Dr. Khalid Niazi on 23.04.2021 at HOPE Rehabilitation Centre. There has been considerable improvement in Zahida’s quality of life, since then, as she has become more independent now.
