Hifza Needs Your Help to Undergo Lymph Node Excision

Hifza Rashid's Story
Hifza, a 15-year-old girl from Hyderabad, has been experiencing painful swelling on both sides of her neck for the past year. Over time, the swelling worsened, affecting her ability to eat, speak, and even sleep. Hifza went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor evaluated her with Bilateral Cervical Lymphadenopathy – which refers to the enlargement of lymph nodes on both sides of the neck. Her condition requires excisional biopsy under general anesthesia. This biopsy report will help making her diagnosis. Unfortunately, her family can’t afford to pay for her procedure.
Without this procedure, her condition may worsen, leading to severe infections or even life-threatening complications. The longer she goes without treatment, the more difficult it becomes to reverse the damage, putting her health at significant risk.
Hifza lives in a modest rented house with her mother and two sisters. Despite the physical challenges, Hifza tries her best to carry on with her daily responsibilities. After the loss of her father, she took charge of her household. Hifza sells potatoes and onions from a small cart to make ends meet. She makes PKR 9000 per month which is insufficient to cover their house rent of PKR 5000 as well as other living expenses. Besides working, Hifza and her two sisters continue their education at a government school. They are surviving in extreme poverty and affording to pay for her procedure is impossible for them. At such a young age, Hifza is already facing so many financial difficulties. Now, her health challenges add another heavy burden at such a tender age.
During this time of need, her mother contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. Her mother said in despair:
“I feel so helpless seeing my daughter suffer every day. I wish I could give her everything she needs, but we just don’t have the means. I’m afraid of what will happen if she doesn’t get the necessary treatment. Please help us.”

Hifza Rashid's Story
Hifza Rashid, a 15-year-old girl from Hyderabad, had been suffering from a painful swelling on both sides of her neck for the past year. As time passed, the swelling grew worse, severely impacting her ability to eat, speak, and even sleep peacefully. Concerned about her worsening condition, Hifza visited a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After conducting a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with Bilateral Cervical Lymphadenopathy. To determine the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment, the doctor recommended an excisional biopsy under general anesthesia to make a definitive diagnosis. Unfortunately, Hifza’s family could not afford the cost of this essential medical intervention.
Hifza lives in a modest rented home with her mother and two younger sisters. After the tragic loss of her father, Hifza took on the responsibility of supporting her family. Despite her physical challenges, she works hard, selling potatoes and onions from a small cart to earn a monthly income of just PKR 9,000. This amount barely covers their house rent, leaving very little for other basic needs. Alongside her work, Hifza and her sisters attend a government school, struggling to continue their education despite the hardships. Living in extreme poverty, the family’s financial situation made it impossible to pay for Hifza’s biopsy procedure. At such a young age, Hifza was already burdened with heavy responsibilities, and her health challenges added to the weight she carried. When Hifza reached out to Transparent Hands, her case was quickly registered.
On March 10, 2025, she was admitted to Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad, where Dr. Aftab Ahmed expertly performed the excisional biopsy. According to the report issued on March 26, 2025, the final diagnosis was Chronic Necrotizing Granulomatous Inflammation, with tuberculosis being the most likely possibility. This diagnosis has provided a clear direction for her future treatment course.Hifza’s mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude as follows: “With your support, she received a proper diagnosis, and now she can start treatment. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped our family during this difficult time.”
Since the biopsy, Hifza has been able to receive a clear diagnosis and begin appropriate treatment. The relief of knowing what she is facing has lifted a heavy burden from her family, giving them hope and strength to face the future together.
Hifza’s family is incredibly grateful to you for making a significant difference in her life.
