Support Aaliya’s Total Correction Surgery
Aaliya Ghaffar's Story
Aaliya Ghaffar, a brave 3-year-old resident of Kasur, has been facing a tremendous battle against a debilitating condition. Aaliya has been experiencing distressing symptoms, including shortness of breath and chest pain. Additionally, her struggle to gain weight has been a cause for concern for her parents. It was when Aaliya turned 1 year old that her parents discovered her condition. After undergoing diagnostic tests and a thorough evaluation, the dedicated medical team diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect. To give Aaliya a chance at a healthy life, the doctors have strongly advised Total Correction Surgery of TOF by open-heart surgery.
However, the financial circumstances surrounding Aaliya’s family have added an overwhelming layer of adversity to their already challenging journey. Aaliya’s father, the sole breadwinner, is a daily wage laborer who earns a modest income of approximately PKR 25,000 per month. Their living conditions are far from ideal, as they reside in a rented house consisting of just one room, a kitchen, and a washroom. The rent, amounting to PKR 9,000 per month, places additional strain on their limited resources. With no other sources of income, Aaliya’s father finds himself unable to afford the Total Correction Surgery expenses that could save his precious daughter’s life.
Aaliya’s father said it in distress:
“My daughter’s innocent heart is burdened with a condition that threatens to steal her dreams and aspirations. As her father, it breaks my heart to witness her struggle each day. I implore you, kind hearts, to come forward and help us in any way you can.”
In their search for a lifeline, Aaliya’s family has reached out to Transparent Hands. We humbly appeal for your generosity and compassion during this trying time. Every contribution, no matter how small, can bring them closer to the funds required for Aaliya’s life-saving surgery. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Aaliya Ghaffar's Story
Aaliya Ghaffar, a 3-year-old innocent girl from Kasur, had been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Her parents came to know about her condition when she was one year old. Aaliya was unable to gain weight like other children of her age. Her skin and lips often turned blue and any mild to moderate physical activity used to make her breathless. Her parents consulted a doctor, who, after running some medical tests, diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and recommended open-heart surgery for total correction. However, the surgery cost was beyond Aaliya’s family's financial means.
Aaliya's parents were heartbroken, knowing their beloved child was suffering. Aaliya lives in a small rented house with her three family members. Her father, the family's sole breadwinner, works as a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 25000 monthly. Their financial situation was stretched thin and affording the surgical cost was a distant dream for them. During this challenging time, Transparent Hands stepped in to help Aaliya and ensured that she could have a life-saving surgery without waiting too long. On June 10, 2024, Aaliya was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. The surgery was scheduled for June 16, 2024, and as the day approached, Aaliya's parents were filled with hope. Dr. Asim Khan skillfully performed the surgery and repaired the defects in Aaliya’s heart. After several days of careful monitoring and recovery, Aaliya was discharged on July 1, 2024. Aaliya's parents were overjoyed to see their daughter breathe without difficulty for the first time in her life. Aaliya’s parents described their happiness as follows: “This surgery is a turning point for our daughter and has changed her life for the better. Your kindness brought light into Aaliya‘s life. We have no words to describe our happiness as you supported us in our darkest time. Thanks for it.” Through the successful TOF repair surgery, Aaliya can now play, laugh, and run like any other child of her age. It has allowed her to live a healthy and happy life without the limitations caused by her heart defects. We are deeply grateful to you and Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation for supporting her and giving Aaliya Ghaffar a second chance at life. Your generosity can never be forgotten.
