Abida’s Double Valve Replacement
Abida Mai's Story
Before you proceed on the painful details of Abida Bibi’s ailment, know that your help can make a huge change in her life. Therefore, we request you to kindly donate as much as you can and make a change in her life. Please be generous with your contributions for Abida’s Double valve replacement and save her heart.
Abida Bibi, aged Twenty-five, a resident of Kotki, has been suffering from palpitation and shortness of breath. Palpitation refers to the thumping of one’s own heart. She took symptomatic treatment but over time her condition only worsened. Upon consultation, after some diagnostic tests Abida was diagnosed with Mitral and Aortic Stenosis. Stenosis is the narrowing of the valves, which controls the flow of blood from one chamber of the heart to the other. To treat this condition the Cardiac surgeon advised to undergo a Double Valve Replacement. A double valve replacement is a replacement of both the mitral and the aortic valve, or the entire left side of the heart. This type of surgery is not as common as the others and the mortality rate is slightly higher.
Abida lives with her mother and siblings. Her brother is the only earner in the family. He works as a laborer and earns a meager amount of PKR. 10,000 a month. With a family of six to raise, it is impossible for them to afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Abida shared her ordeal with Transparent Hands in the following manner:
“I am only twenty-five and have fallen prey to this disease. When my heart rate increases, it makes me so uncomfortable and then the pain begins. I have been enduring this long enough. Please help me and relieve me of this pain so I can live disease-free.”
Now that Abida has been connected with Transparent Hands, we are more than determined to help her get cured. But, this will not be possible without your assistance. Hence, we would ask you to please donate generously for Abida’s Double Valve Replacement.
