Two years old Adiv Asif, a resident of Lahore, has been enduring the pain of congenital heart defects by birth. His parents took him for a check-up. His first operation was done in a government hospital when he was 3 months old. Then the doctor advised him for a second operation for Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) closure. But due to minimal financial resources, Adiv Asif’s family couldn’t proceed with this surgery.
Adiv Asif lives in his grandparents’ house along with his mother. His uncle is the only breadwinner of the family. He has a big family to support with a mere income of PKR. 20,000 per month. Therefore, he cannot afford Adiv’s surgery. A neighbor told them about Transparent Hands and they contacted us. After verifying his case we have registered Adiv’s case. Adiv’s grief stricken mother told us that:
“My beloved son is hovering on the threshold of life and death. I do not have the heart to see him suffer anymore. In days of playing in the fields, he is suffering in the hospital. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please donate for my son’s surgery.”

Adiv Asif's Story
Four-year-old Adiv Asif, a resident of Lahore, was born with a congenital cardiac abnormality. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect. The doctor advised him to undergo a Closure of Ventricular Septal Defect as a cure. But, Adiv’s parents could not afford the cost of their son’s procedure. They registered Adiv’s case with Transparent Hands. We sent Adiv to Ittefaq Hospital for his surgery. His open heart surgery was carried out by Dr. Asim Khan on 10-01-2022. He was discharged after five days of hospital stay. This operation was done with the assistance of Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation. Adiv is now on his road to a brighter future.
