Muhammad Ahmed, a 14-year-old resident of Lahore, has been suffering from shortness of breath, cyanosis since birth, and recurrent episodes of chest pain. He is also unable to gain weight. His parents learned about his condition recently and took him to a local hospital. After the diagnostic tests and evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with severe aortic stenosis (AS), moderate aortic valve regurgitation (AR), and left ventricular hypertrophy. The cardiac surgeon advised him to undergo Aortic Valve Replacement surgery. It is a surgical procedure to replace a poorly working aortic valve with an artificial valve.

He lives in a rented house with his parents and three siblings. His father, the sole breadwinner of the family, earns a meager income of PKR 35,000 per month, which is not enough to cover the hefty cost of the cardiac surgery. His heart condition had already caused significant distress to the family. The constant worry and anxiety of not being able to provide their child with the necessary medical attention are taking a toll on his father’s mental health. He desperately seeks help to provide his son with the best possible treatment. He said in a depressed tone:
