Muhammad Azlan 's Story
Azlan has grown up in a world of silence. He suffers from social isolation as a result of his hearing loss. There’s a surgical treatment for his defect, but his family cannot afford to pay for it due to financial constraints. You can give him the gift of hearing with your generous donations, and his family will remember your generosity their whole lives. Azlan awaits cochlear implant surgery to bring joy to his life.
Five-year-old Azlan, a resident of Sukkur, has been suffering from congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents realized he was not responding to their voices when he was a year old and were concerned. His parents took him to the local hospital, where his tests were done. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery. A cochlear implant is a small electronic device used to electrically stimulate the cochlear nerve (hearing nerve). The implant has external and internal parts. The external portion is attached behind the ear. It processes the sounds using a microphone before transmitting them to the implant’s internal component.
He lives in a rented house with his parents and four siblings. His father is the only breadwinner in the family and earns PKR 15,000 per month. His father’s financial position won’t allow him to pay for the surgical expenses. He said it in a despairing tone.
“The treatment necessary for our son to regain his hearing is extremely costly. We want our son to listen to our voices and play like every other child his age. However, this hearing defect is causing him a lot of stress. Please help us.”
His father contacted Transparent Hands to register his son’s case. Azlan awaits cochlear implant surgery to discover the world of sounds. We urge you to donate generously to his surgery to help him communicate with his loved ones.

Muhammad Azlan 's Story
Transparent Hands is thrilled to share the heartwarming success story of Azlan, a five-year-old boy who has overcome the barriers of silence and is now embarking on a remarkable journey of discovering sound and communication. Thanks to generous donations from compassionate donors, Azlan has received the life-changing gift of hearing through a successful cochlear implant surgery.
Born into a world of silence, Azlan faced social isolation and the inability to connect with others due to his congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents, deeply concerned about their son's well-being, sought medical assistance when he was just a year old. After being diagnosed with hearing loss, they were informed that cochlear implant surgery was necessary for Azlan to regain his hearing abilities.
However, the financial constraints of the family cast a shadow of despair over their hopes for their son's future. With a monthly income of only PKR 15,000, Azlan's father knew he couldn't afford the costly surgical expenses. Azlan's family contacted Transparent Hands to seek help with the expensive surgery that the little boy needed. We raised funds and made arrangements for his treatment, and Azlan was admitted to Ali Medical Center, where Dr. Jawad Ahmed performed the cochlear implant surgery successfully on 28-4-2023.
Since the surgery, Azlan has been making remarkable progress on his journey to rediscover the world of sounds. Every day brings new moments of awe as he learns to process sounds and recognize the voices of his loved ones. It is an incredible transformation that has touched the hearts of all who have been a part of his journey.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the kind-hearted donors whose generosity made this life-changing surgery possible for Azlan. Your selfless act of giving has not only brought immense joy to Azlan and his family but has also provided him with the opportunity to develop essential communication skills, engage with his peers, and embrace the world around him.
