Muhammad Ahmed's Story

Meet Muhammad Ahmed, a 4-year-old boy from Lahore, who has been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. His tiny lips and fingertips sometimes turn blue – a heartbreaking sight for his parents. They watch helplessly as their son struggles and is unable to play and grow like other kids. Ahmed’s parents took him to a local hospital. After a series of diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) and a large Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). The condition means that the flow of oxygenated blood in his body is severely compromised. The doctors have advised a Senning operation but the cost of the procedure is far beyond his family’s reach.

Without surgery, Ahmed’s condition will continue to worsen. It may lead to severe breathing difficulties and potential heart failure.

Ahmed lives in his family’s modest home with his parents and two siblings. His father is an electrician and brings in only PKR 35,000 per month. This income barely covers the family’s basic expenses, including utility bills of PKR 5000 and educational expenses of PKR 3500. The thought of arranging the necessary amount for their son’s life-saving surgery has left them feeling helpless. They dream of seeing Ahmed run and play freely, but their financial constraints make it impossible for them to pay for this surgery. During this time of need, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Ahmed’s mother said in despair:

“I can’t see Ahmed in this unfortunate condition. When I see other children of his age run and play, I ask myself, When will my child get the chance to live a healthy life? I wish I could take away his pain and give him a normal childhood. I request you to please support Ahmed in undergoing the surgery.”

Ahmed’s survival depends on this surgery, and his family is turning to generous hearts like yours. Your donations, no matter how small or big, can make all the difference. Let’s stand together and give Ahmed the healthy future he deserves.

Muhammad Ahmed's Story

Muhammad Ahmad, a 4-year-old boy from Lahore, had been suffering from persistent shortness of breath and frequent chest discomfort since birth. His lips and fingertips would sometimes turn blue, a frightening sight that left his parents feeling helpless. Worried about his worsening condition, Ahmad’s parents took him to a local hospital. After a detailed series of diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Ahmad with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) and a large Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). These serious congenital heart defects were limiting oxygen supply to his body. The only way to save his life was through a Senning operation. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his family’s means.

Ahmad lives in a modest home with his parents and two siblings. His father, an electrician, earns just PKR 35,000 per month. With basic expenses barely covered, they struggled to manage their expenses. Affording to pay for costly heart surgery was impossible for them. That’s when his family turned to Transparent Hands for help. After listening to their concerns, we promptly registered his case.

On April 25, 2025, Ahmad was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. The Senning operation was successfully performed by Dr. Faiz Rasool on April 26, 2025. Following a smooth recovery and necessary post-operative care, Ahmad was discharged on May 1, 2025.

With a grateful heart, Ahmad’s parents said:

“Before surgery, we used to worry every moment, watching him struggle to breathe and sleep. Today, our child smiles, plays, and eats with ease. We never imagined this relief would come with your support. Thank you for supporting our son’s surgery.”

After surgery, Ahmad’s life has completely changed. He can now enjoy his childhood without limitations.

This remarkable change was only possible because of your kind support. Ahmad’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for giving their son a healthy and hopeful future.
